Your Life NOW!
Teach me to number my days, that I may apply my heart unto wisdom. Ps. 90:13
This is your life Now. You are living your life now. Let's take a look at our life in the NOW. How are you choosing to live your life today? Who's plan for your life are you following? Your own plan or God's plan? God says that His plan for you is peace which is "SHALOM" (Jer. 29:11). This word means wholeness, prosperity, health and wellness. Yes, even in the midst of trials and obstacles, God expects you to live the life of SHALOM He planned for you even before you were born.
Whatever God has promised you, is for now. Now is the time. Jesus said over 2000 years ago that "NOW is the acceptable year" (Isa 61:2, Luke 4:19) Acceptable in Hebrew means ratsown which is desire, favor and (good) pleasure. Now is the year for opportunities to open to bring you to the things you've been desiring. His awesome plan for your life will bring you pleasure. It brings Him pleasure too when you succeed- His words says that He takes "pleasure in the prosperity of his servant."Ps. 35:27
Jesus told us that He came to give us a 'rich and satisfying life' (Jn 10:10 NLT). Yes. He did just that. He came, died, and rose again so we can walk in victory, today, NOW! This Year. This is your year of favor. All the good God has promised you, expect it NOW. What are you waiting for? Set your mind NOW, to walk in victory NOW!
The Bible tells us repeatedly that "David was a man after God's own heart". God loved the way that David knew and understood His ways. So what did David understand about living in the Now? He said, "Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom". (Psalms 90:12 NLT) .
Although David's life was filled with ups and downs, what was his expectation from God? What sets David apart from other men that made God say, "Now that's a man after my own heart"? Here's what David said,
Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom. O LORD, come back to us! How long will you delay? Take pity on your servants! Satisfy us each morning with your unfailing love, so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives. Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery! Replace the evil years with good. Let us, your servants, see you work again; let our children see your glory. And may the Lord our God show us his approval and make our efforts successful. Yes, make our efforts successful! (Psalms 90:12-17 NLT)
David realized that life was relatively short. Therefore, he sought The Lord to 'teach' him how to prepare his days on earth (his NOW) so that he can enjoy a life of success.
How about you? Are you expecting a good life from God NOW? Or are you waiting for tomorrow when things changes so you can start enjoying life? Jesus said NOW IS THE YEAR for the opportunities and dreams that you have been desiring to come through. Now is the time when He wants you to enjoy the life He came to give you. It's not just for tomorrow, but it's also for NOW.
